| RSVP now for the Global Met Gala (aka Unity Ball)!
This red carpet event will celebrate culture and intersectionality and will be held Thursday, April 11, from 6:00 to 9:00 p.m. in the HUB Ohio Room. Our students are offering an evening of unity and cultural exploration, from food to entertainment. This special event is hosted by the DEI Alliance, a unified cohort of student organizations that each have a mission to support minority students by developing community, collaborating with other organizations, and creating cultural visibility programs. Those specifically assisting with the gala at this time include Collegiate Women in Progress, Colors in Unity, India Student Association, IUP Hillel, IUP Lambda Sigma Upsilon Latino Fraternity, Latino Student Organization, IUP-NAACP, and the South Asian Student Association. Before coming to IUP, Susan worked as a drug and alcohol counselor and case manager in both inpatient and outpatient settings, and as a crisis intervention specialist. We thank you, Susan!
A note about IUP Values Me: Each week, we highlight one student and one staff member to “shine a spotlight” on their leadership and involvement in campus programs and their great work assisting our campus community with diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) and/or civil rights awareness. If you have a suggestion for an IUP community member to feature in this section, please email social-equity@iup.edu.
