A Broader Perspective

I am a details kind of person.  I tend to get lost in the minutiae of things, seek close-up views, and think in terms of particulars.  And while that tendency is helpful in some situations (like my college English classes)—I’ve learned over the years that it’s also important to zoom out sometimes to get a broader perspective.  Some business leaders call this the fifty-thousand-foot view.  Some preachers call it the balcony view.  But whatever we call it, that broader view can help us see things in a different light.  It can help us understand those details differently and make connections that can lead us in new directions.

This Sunday, we’ll wrap up our sermon series on The Simple Faith of Mr. Rogers by exploring the story of Peter and Cornelius in Acts 10:1-35.  Because these men follow the Spirit’s lead, Peter broadens his perspective and Gentiles come to know the saving grace of Jesus Christ.  Mr. Rogers’ final lesson for us echoes this text, encouraging us to broaden our perspectives about others.  I hope you’ll join us.

I also hope you’ll join us during the Sunday school hour for our Fifth Sunday Fellowship.  We’ll hear about some of Cavalry's amazing ministries and you’ll have an opportunity to talk to the folks who lead them.  This is a great opportunity to broaden your perspective about Calvary and perhaps even get involved in something new!

See you Sunday!

Winter Trip to Estonia

There will be a winter trip to Estonia. We’re looking to build a small team to go play with the kids at the Lighthouse after school and to travel to our partner church in the village of Reeküla, on the island of Saaremaa. We’ll enjoy the short days, brisk weather, and the best Christmas market in Europe. Trip dates are Dec 2 through Dec 9, 2026.

Contact Andy Morris if interested.

Help us extend a warm welcome the moment someone walks through the door!

We’re looking for friendly, upbeat volunteers to serve at the church Front Desk, an easy but meaningful way to make a big impact. You’ll be the first smile people see, offering hospitality, answering simple questions, and helping connect people to what’s happening in the life of the church.

If you enjoy people and want a flexible way to serve, this is a great place to plug in and be part of something important. Scan the QR code to view available times and sign up to volunteer.
