UW-Whitewater AMA, Enactus students support business development in Guatemala
|
Over the summer, four UW-Whitewater students visited Antigua, Guatemala, for meetings, workshops and cultural immersion with ProChapina, a nonprofit organization that supports and empowers Guatemalan women through professional training and service. The university’s American Marketing Association and Enactus chapters are working to make the business sustainable.

Boxes and Walls running through Thursday
|
University Housing’s annual Boxes and Walls is scheduled for Sunday, Oct. 20, through Thursday, Oct. 24, at Esker Hall. An interactive experience, Boxes and Walls is designed to allow participants to feel and/or sense what life is like from various perspectives, including Black, LGBTQA+, LatinX, physical disability, and neurodiverse.

| Final elections panel set for Wednesday
|
Global Election Practices, the final panel in a three-part Fall 2024 Elections Panel series, will take place this Wednesday, Oct. 23, from 5-6 p.m. in Hyland Hall room 1306. The event is hosted by the departments of history and politics, government, and law.

| WIBI to host Entrepreneurship Panel Wednesday

UW-Whitewater’s Women in Business Institute and College Entrepreneurs’ Organization will welcome four business founders to campus for a Women in Entrepreneurship Panel this Wednesday, Oct. 23, from 5:30-7 p.m. in Hyland Hall room 2101. Learn about experiences and resources that support new ventures and enjoy networking and light refreshments.

A total of 49 UW-Whitewater students will serve as Certified Level 1, 2 or 3 Tutors for the university's Campus Tutorial Services in 2024-25.

| Roster set for 2024-25 UW-Whitewater bowling team

The UW-Whitewater bowling team recently started competition for the 2024-25 season. The team is in its 23rd season as an NCAA program.

Kudos to Hannah St. Louis, an art education major from Watertown, who has been awarded the Wisconsin Art Educators Association Student of the Year Award for advancing art education in the state of Wisconsin. Hannah will be recognized at the WAEA Conference later this week. Read more about Hannah »
Kudos to Randeep Pangli, a biology major from Fort Atkinson, who earned the Milwaukee Institute for Drug Discovery poster award for his contribution, “Boron Prodrugs of Niclosamides for the Treatment of Non-Alcoholic Steatohepatitis,” at the Wisconsin Science Education and Research Conference on Oct. 4-6.
