We can’t believe the school year is already over when it seems it just began. We are so proud of all the May graduates who crossed that stage last weekend and are making plans for their next phase as Spartan alum. It was lovely to meet so many of you at Breslin as we shared our congratulations stickers — while it was your student who graduated, your support was pivotal in their journey. You will always be a part of the Spartan family!
Speaking of Spartan family — the dates for Spartan Family Weekend 2025 have been released! We are so excited to welcome you back to campus Sept. 12-14. It’s earlier than it’s ever been, but that’s not the only difference. We are also thrilled to share that, thanks to generous funding from the university and sponsorship from MSUFCU, there is no longer a registration fee to attend! While there are some events that have a fee associated (MSU Dairy coupons, Forest Akers golf outing, etc.), key events like the Green & White Night and the tailgate before the game are included in Family Weekend at no charge. The tailgate is being reworked and will have several options to choose from at the time of registration, which will be open July 28-Aug. 23. More information about Family Weekend will be shared in the next several newsletters!
In the meantime, enjoy a restful summer and let us know if we can be of assistance.
Take care,
Laurin

61st Annual MSU Spring Arts and Crafts Show May 17-18
The Annual MSU Arts and Crafts Show is a seasonal tradition, beloved community event and an important fundraiser for the University Activities Board. All vendor booth fees go directly to the UAB, which is comprised of student members and part-time student coordinators that design and implement events, most free of charge, for MSU students to connect and build community.
The Spring Arts and Crafts Show is located on the MSU Union grounds and focuses on high-quality "handmade" arts and crafts — no resell or wholesale — and is the perfect place to pick up a heartfelt gift or bring some cheer to a loved one, all while supporting small business owners and MSU students!

Incoming Student On-Campus Housing Assignments
MSU Live On is excited to welcome incoming students to our on-campus housing this fall. Incoming students won't choose their specific space; instead, they'll select preferences and be assigned by the Housing Assignments Office.
Ensure your student signs their Housing Contract in their My Housing after they make their advanced payment and housing application fee. If they are under 18, the contract must be co-signed by a parent/guardian. Housing Contracts are due no later than May 9.
The housing preference process will open May 13. Preferences include preferred bathroom type, dining plan selection, roommate requests and more.
Incoming transfer students are waived from the live-on requirement, but they are welcome to request on-campus housing in their My Housing account — most offers will be for a double room.
Learn more at liveon.msu.edu/incoming-student-housing.

Office of Financial Aid
Reminder: If students are planning to use a Parent PLUS Loan for summer semester 2025, there is a separate application at studentaid.gov. Be sure to choose the 2024-25 aid year, and the date range “06/25-07/25.”
Now is the time to check the student financial aid portal for any actions required to finalize student 2025-26 financial aid packages. The “Documents” or “Notifications” tab may have a notice of outstanding step(s) necessary to allow aid to disburse.
If students have not already done so, the 2025-26 FAFSA is available to complete at fafsa.gov. It is always recommended to complete this simple application to be considered for a number of federal, state and MSU scholarship opportunities.
