Dear Parents/Guardians,
St. Vincent de Paul Elementary School's field day for grades K-5 will be held on Thursday May 16th. The rain-out date is Monday, May 20th.
Dress Code for the day:
- Students are allowed to wear shorts, jeans, or sweatpants, with an appropriate t-shirt or sweatshirt (no sleeveless tops, please). NO skirts.
- Tennis shoes are required to be worn for participation, no sandals. For safety reasons, these shoes must cover the toe and heel of the student, and remain on the foot of the student when the students runs. Parents will be called to bring the correct shoes if a student is not wearing proper ones.
- No swimsuits.
- Socks must follow the dress code
- When outdoors, hats may be worn to aid in protection from the sun.
Lunch:
- Lunch will still be served as normal.
Please note:
- We ask that students to please bring their own water bottles and to label them.
- Please keep all sunscreen bottles at home and sunscreen your child before they come to school.
- There are two stations that involve water this year and the students were notified that they will get a little bit wet. You may send your send with extra clothes to change into if you so wish.
- Parents or guest are not permitted to come to watch the events.

ASC EXTRA DAYS SIGNUP OPENS MAY 25
After School Care will be available on certain early release and non-school days on a first-come/first-served basis. Families with children accepted to the 2024-2025 ASC program are eligible to request extra days ASC services. Families applying for the 2024-2025 ASC program who are waitlisted for that program are also eligible to request extra days ASC services. Families not submitting an application for the 2024-2025 ASC program are not eligible for extra days ASC services.
The cost for extra days ASC program services will be $30.00 on early dismissal days (care offered from the noon dismissal until 5:30 P.M.) and $50.00 on non-school days (care offered from 7:30 A.M.-5:30 P.M.).

The signup form for 2024-2025 extra days ASC services will open on Saturday, May 25 at 8:00 A.M.. At that time, you can click here to access the signup form. Prior to the form opening, the link will only bring up an Access Code Required screen.

ANNUAL STUDENT HEALTH UPDATE FORMS REQUIRED FOR ALL STUDENTS
Completion and submission of an Annual Student Health Update form is required for all 2024-2025 PK-8 students.
Our school nurse uses this information to ensure her records on and plans for all students are current and appropriate and that we have authorizations on file if emergency medical treatment is needed.
To complete forms for your children, log into your parent PowerSchool account. NOTE: You will need to select your children in turn individually, click on Forms in the left navigation pane for each child, and then complete and submit the form for each child.
If you do not remember your parent PowerSchool login credentials, contact Ray Bentzen (bentzenr@svdpomaha.org) for assistance.
Annual Student Health Update forms were due May 1, 2024. If you have not completed the health forms for you child(ren) please do so as soon as possible.

Upcoming School Mass
Celebrate on Wednesday, May 15th, as the Eighth Grade plans and leads our grades 3-8 school Mass.
Do you want to attend your child's school Mass without distraction? We now are offering free childcare during school Masses. Please feel free to drop off your little ones in the Guardian Angels room located across from the parish Family Room as early as 8 A.M. We will have providers there after Mass as well to allow parents time for fellowship. If you have questions, please contact Lisa Maxson at maxsonl@svdpomaha.org.
Everyone is welcome to attend Mass and then stay for the SVdP Parents Coffee Club at Heavenly Grounds in the Parish Center. Come to Mass with the students and then stay after and meet new parents or catch up with old friends. Coffee and snacks are provided!

CHROMEBOOK RETURN PLANS FOR GRADES 3-8
Grades 3-8 students will return Chromebooks as indicated below; all returns will be processed in the Lower JH Commons (by 8th grade classrooms):
Monday, May 13: 8th grade @ 7:30 A.M.
Tuesday, May 14: 3rd grade @ 7:30 A.M.
Wednesday, May 15: 4th and 5th grades @ 7:30 A.M.
Thursday, May 16: 6th and 7th grades @ 7:30 A.M.
Eighth-graders and students not returning to SVdP next year at other grade levels will need to return Chromebooks, charging cords, and protective bags. Grades 3-7 students enrolling at SVdP for 2024-2025 will need to return only Chromebooks; protective bags and charging cords will be kept by students over the summer for use again next year.
All Chromebooks should be returned fully charged.
As noted on the Acceptable Use form agreed to by students and parents when Chromebooks were issued, items not returned or returned with damage will be assessed charges, as indicated below; payments, if due, may be made at the time other items are returned.
Missing protective bag (for 8th graders and 3-7 students not returning )—>$25.00
Missing charging cord—>$25.00
Missing Chromebook—>$265.00
Damaged/defaced device, charging cord, or protective bag—>$1.00--$315.00

SVdP Track update:
On Saturday, May 4th we had the PAL Super Meet at Northwest High School. The girls finished 7th place, and the boys finished 11th.
The students who placed this meet were...
Zelie Niehaus placed 3rd in the 100 meter dash and 3rd in the 200 meter dash (breaking her own school record), and 2nd in the long jump.
Mya Igwenma placed 6th in the 100 meter hurdles.
Gabrielle Kenny placed 8th in the 800 meter run.
Tatum Houghton placed 6th in the 1600 meter run.
Elliette Skradski placed 4th in the discus throw and 7th in the shot put.
Olivia Clayton placed 8th in the long jump.
The relay of Isabella Gregory, Marin Quattrocchi, Hana Huang, and Tatum Houghton placed 4th in the medley relay (setting a new school record).
The relay of Marin Quattrocchi, Hana Huang, Isabella Gregory, and Zelie Niehaus placed 4th in the 4x200 relay.
The relay of Olivia Clayton, Tatum Houghton, Alexa Franzluebbers, and Samantha Mayer placed 7th in the 4x400 relay.
John Boesch placed 4th in the 1600 meter run.
Drew Santos placed 2nd in the long jump.
Also, we had a great group of 8th graders this season!

Kitchen Part-time Assistance is needed in the School Cafeteria. The hours are M-F 10:30 to 1:30 on all days that school lunch is served. The main duty is running our Point of Sale program for student lunches. This includes interacting with students to make sure their lunch trays are complete. Also included is light clean up and preparing the area for each lunch session. 2024 LITTLE FLOWERS AND SISTERS IN FAITH REGISTRATION NOW OPEN
Little Flowers Girls Club is a group for girls in grades K-3 to facilitate a friendship with Jesus through the saints and service projects. Each grade level meets once a month after school.
Registration fees will cover the costs for monthly service projects, the annual Daddy and Daughter Olympics, Mother and Daughter Tea Party, and more!
Annual registration is $70, and scholarships are available if there is a financial hardship. Click here for more information and to register your daughter.
Sisters in Faith is the continuation of the focus found in Little Flowers but also an exploration into new service projects like cooking, baking, and sewing to name a few!

Boys For Others is a new group for Kindergarten boys to help them grow in friendship with Jesus through the Saints and service projects which help our community.

PASTORAL MINISTER POSITION NOW OPEN AT SVdP – SVdP is currently seeking applicants for a Pastoral Minister. The Pastoral Minister will work with the priests and parish staff to provide pastoral leadership and support for designated ministry groups within the parish. These ministries include Ministry to the Sick, Outreach Ministry, New Parishioner Welcome, Prayer Ministry, and Safe Environment Coordination.
