| Students, recent graduate part of AI startup

Chad Tjugum, an entrepreneurship major from Sun Prairie, Sadiq Wanyaka, a computer science major from Madison, and Bella Biever, a May 2025 graduate with a B.S. in communication, will pitch their AI startup this weekend at Texas A&M. Recrura, which matches employers with qualified job candidates, is one of 12 finalists for the national competition.

Kudos to Matt Vick, dean of the School of Graduate Studies and Continuing Education, for securing UW-Whitewater as a co-host for the onsite residency of the Institute for Emerging Leadership in Online Learning (IELOL) through the Online Learning Consortium (OLC) in August. Vick served as key program faculty and event facilitator for the residency, attended by faculty, instructional designers, and leaders from around the country. Morgan Anderson, Matt Baier, and Corey Davis were members of this year’s Institute. Roger Yin earns Regents Award

Roger Yin, professor of information technology, was recognized last week as a recipient of the 2025 Universities of Wisconsin Regents Teaching Excellence Award for career achievement and excellence in teaching.
