Spring 2026 Feature Release

This weekend, Workday will undergo a significant feature release designed to enhance your experience and productivity through improvements to global navigation. Here are the top things general users should know about this release:

  • Streamlined Navigation: The updated interface makes it easier to locate key tasks and resources, helping you complete tasks more efficiently.
  • Enhanced Mobile Access: The mobile app now offers smoother navigation, allowing you to stay connected and manage tasks on the go.
  • Performance and Security Updates: Behind-the-scenes improvements ensure faster load times and stronger data protection for all users.

These regular feature releases are a great benefit because they keep the platform current with user needs, introduce valuable efficiencies, and help ensure that Workday remains secure and reliable.

Preview the New Global Navigation

The new global navigation introduced in the Workday Spring 2026 release provides several key benefits for users. It streamlines access to important tasks and resources, making it easier to find what you need quickly. Enhanced mobile access allows us to manage our work more efficiently, whether at our desks or on the go.

Yesterday, the Change Management team gave a demo of the new global navigation during a Lunch & Learn. If you weren’t able to make it, check out the recording below.

Time Management Dashboards

We’re excited to share a recent enhancement made possible through the hard work and collaboration of our colleagues in UHR and Student Employment.

After receiving feedback that managers needed visibility into employees’ time-off balances, Student Employment shared this input with UHR. Together, they identified a way to improve the Workday experience and implemented an effective solution.

Special thanks to Zach Conrad, associate professor in the Department of Health Sciences, whose feedback helped drive this enhancement.

As we continue to grow and mature within the system, we remain committed to optimizing Workday and enhancing the experience for everyone.

Cornerstone Learning Turned Off; Performance Remains Enabled

Please note that while Cornerstone Learning is now turned off, employees are still able to log into Cornerstone to access Performance content only. Workday Tip: Searching for Supplier Invoice, Expense Report, or Journal

When attempting to locate a supplier invoice, expense report, or journal in Workday using the document identifier, it may initially seem inaccessible as no results are displayed. However, by selecting the 'Categories' option, you can successfully find and retrieve the desired document.

If you click on All Categories, then you will see the following. In this instance, we selected  Procurement (1).

A screenshot from within the Workday platform that shows where the All Categories dropdown is. It is the 5th from left.

Once you select Procurement (1), you will be able to access and view the document.

Important Reminder: Submit Workday Questions in the Support Portal

To ensure the fastest and most effective support, please submit all Workday questions or issues exclusively through the Support Portal as a ticket. Do not email askhr@wm.edu, workdayproject@wm.edu, or support@wm.edu directly.

Managing requests in multiple systems makes it challenging for our teams to provide timely and accurate assistance, so directing all tickets through the support portal is essential. Thank you for your cooperation!
