Cooperatives Work for the Community
Cooperatives such as 3 Rivers prioritize the needs and goals of their members, unlike traditional companies that focus on maximizing profit for shareholders. Members have a say in how the co-op is run by electing fellow members to a board of directors. Benefits for co-op members include shared ownership, increased accountability, earning capital credits, and support of local non-profits and schools through grant programs. Formed as a cooperative over 70 years ago by farmers and ranchers to provide telephone service, 3 Rivers now helps drive economic development in our rural service areas with a world-class fiber broadband network.
