YCA offers leaders of the future: stars who combine world-class talent with creative vision to bring new reach and relevance to the art form including Chinese violinist Lun Li, Danish cellist Jonathan Swensen, Spanish/Dutch pianist Albert Cano Smit, American tenor Daniel McGrew, and American bass-baritone Joseph Parrish. This special program is made possible through the generous support of the Howard and Katherine Aibel Foundation and the Lundberg Family Foundation.

Grammy Award-winners Ranky Tanky return to the Quick stage, this time with very special guest, Lisa Fischer, performing timeless music from the Gullah culture of the southeastern Sea Islands. Tanky's 2020 album won Best Regional Roots Album and reached #1 on the Billboard, Amazon, and iTunes Jazz Charts. Fischer, who has performed with icons like The Rolling Stones and Nine Inch Nails, was featured in the Oscar-winning film, Twenty Feet from Stardom.

Drum Tao has attracted over nine million spectators worldwide. The performance art, known as Wadaiko, combines music, dance, martial arts, and culture with power, speed, and synchronicity, resulting in dynamic group drumming. Based in Oita, Japan, Drum Tao has three teams touring the globe, creating "Japanese entertainment" for a new generation.

An Afternoon in Paris
Sunday, March 10, 2024 | 3 p.m.
 
Dr. Orin Grossman and Giulia Contaldo will perform a selection of music for one piano four-hands and two pianos, featuring works by Debussy, Ravel, and Milhaud. Contaldo, a rising star in the piano firmament, has won numerous European competitions and has performed with the BBC Symphony Orchestra. Dr. Grossman, a familiar face on the Quick Center stage, is excited to introduce Contaldo to Quick audiences.
