Tuesday: Vote! 

Exercise your right to vote and make your voice count this Tuesday, April 7. Students who live in residence halls on campus can vote at the UC, while those who live off campus should plan to vote at the Armory, located at 146 W. North St. in Whitewater.

Listen to student entrepreneurs pitch their business startups and enjoy networking at the Warhawk Business Plan Competition this Wednesday, April 8, from 5:15-7:30 p.m. at the Whitewater University Innovation Center. Admission is free.

Friday: Bridging Research in the United States and Japan

Fulbright Scholar Aya Okada will present "Bridging Research in Japan and the United States" this Friday, April 10, at 2 p.m. in Hyland Hall room 2203. A welcome reception with refreshments will follow the presentation. The event is free and open to the campus community.

April 17: Groundbreaking for Winther, Heide halls 

UW-Whitewater will officially break ground on the almost $90 million renovation of Winther Hall, home of the College of Education and Professional Studies, and Heide Hall at noon on Friday, April 17, outside of Winther Hall. The event, which will be held in conjunction with the UW-Whitewater Foundation Board meeting, is open to all. RSVP by April 10.

A total of 37 students from UW-Whitewater are serving as Greek chapter presidents during the 2025-26 academic year.

Wrestling, men’s track and field represented at nationals

Five members of the UW-Whitewater wrestling team and three student-athletes on the Warhawk men’s track and field team competed in their respective 2026 NCAA Championships last month.

Kudos to Dwight C. Watson, professor of curriculum and instruction, and Karla Erwin, assistant professor of curriculum and instruction, who presented “Connecting Preservice Teachers to Generative AI to Enhance Learning for Generation Alpha” at the Academy for Educational Studies, Critical Questions in Education Conference on Feb. 10 in San Diego, California. Watson also presented “What Artificial Intelligence Has Done (and will do) to Teaching and Learning: The Good, the Bad, and the Ugly” as part of the Conversation Panel at the conference.

Kudos to Haley Liebelt, a supply chain management major from Tomahawk, who was a panelist in the Association for Supply Chain Management Wisconsin Chapter presentation “Females in Supply Chain” on March 19 in Pewaukee. Haley Liebelt »

Gwenyth Heidinger (at right in photo), a geography major with an emphasis in geology and a minor in environmental science from Madison who is set to graduate this spring, was recently featured by the NASA Wisconsin Space Grant Consortium as a recipient of an undergraduate research scholarship. Girard to appear on “Project Pitch It”

Steven Girard (at left in photo), professor of chemistry, will appear on Episode 2 of Season 10 of “Project Pitch It” on Saturday, April 18, at 10:35 p.m. The show will air on WISN-TV 12 in Milwaukee and southeastern Wisconsin and on WKOW-TV in the Madison viewing area. “Project Pitch It” is a show where Wisconsin entrepreneurs pitch their ideas to a panel of the state’s leading business moguls. Girard’s startup, Sea Change Silicides, is a product of the work in his chemistry lab with UW-Whitewater students conducting undergraduate research. BizTimes » | WISN-TV »
