Track

Over this past weekend, on May 3rd, we competed in the PAL Super Meet at Buena Vista High School in Omaha.

We set/broke 10 school records! This was partly because we had some new events that we've never done before but also due to some incredible performances.

The girls team placed 7th out of 19 teams.

Gabby Kenny earned 6th in the 400 meter dash.

Tatum Houghton earned 2nd in the mile run and 5th in the 800 meter run.

Ellie Skradski earned 6th in the discus throw and 3rd place in the shot put, setting a school record for the newer, heavier shot put.

The 4 x 200 relay of Bella Franzluebbers, Hana Huang, Beya Zavaletta, and Alexa Franzluebbers earned 7th place.

The 4 x 400 relay of Tatum Houghton, Jordyn McKee, Alexa Franzluebbers, and Gabby Kenny earned 6th place.

The boys team placed 9th out of 18 teams.

John Boesch earned 7th in the 800 meter run and 5th in the 1600 meter run.

Logan Smith earned 3rd in the discus throw, breaking the school record with his throw.

The sprint medley relay team of Alex Broders, Brooks Roubal, William Klein, and Evan Glow earned 8th place.

The 4 x 200 team of Hayden Audino, Charlie Alder, Nolan Cheney, and Kendrick Mane earned 3rd place.

The boys 4 x 800 team of Charlie Dietz, Evan Glow, Nolan Cheney, and John Boesch earned 3rd place and broke the school record with their time.

Gabe Gregory also set the school records in the 100 meter 33 inch hurdles and the 200 meter 33 inch hurdles.

A special shoutout to all our 8th graders in their final year of SVdP Track:

Charlie Alder, John Boesch, Nolan Cheney, Charlie Dietz, Alexa Franzluebbers, Tatum Houghton, Addie Jones, Madelyn Maxson, Beckett Roubal, Ellie Skradski, Logan Smith, and Isaac Weiland.

Field Day is coming

Dear Parents/Guardians,

St. Vincent de Paul Elementary School's field day for grades K-5 will be held on Monday, May 19th. The rain-out date is Tuesday, May 20th. We are very excited for this year’s theme of Wet and Wild, where water plays a major factor in the stations. Please review the dress code below, and let me know if you have any questions.

Dress Code for the day:

- Students are allowed to wear shorts, jeans, or sweatpants, with an appropriate t-shirt or sweatshirt (no sleeveless tops, please). No skirts.

- Tennis shoes are required to be worn for participation—no sandals. For safety reasons, these shoes must cover the toe and heel of the student and remain on the foot of the student when the student runs. Parents will be called to bring the correct shoes if a student is not wearing proper ones.

- No Swimsuits.

- Socks must follow the dress code.

- When outdoors, hats may be worn to aid in protection from the sun.

Lunch:

- No hot lunch will still be served; sack lunches are required.

Please note:

- We ask that students please bring their own water bottles and have them labeled.

- Please keep all sunscreen bottles at home, and sunscreen your child before they come to school.

- The stations will involve water this year, and your child will get wet. It’s advised to send them with an extra pair of clothes to change into and possibly a towel, especially if your child (3-5) is in the morning session.

- Parents or guests are NOT permitted to come to watch the events.
