| KU Reads Watch Party: An Evening with John Green
7-8:30 PM | Watson Library, Three West Reading Room & Lawrence Public Library
The University of Kansas and Lawrence Public Library will host public watch parties on Tuesday, Sept. 2, for the at-capacity event, “An Evening with John Green,” part of the 2025-26 KU Reads: A Common Book Experience. Each watch party is free and open to the public, and will begin at 7 p.m., allowing attendees to gather and engage with others while viewing the live stream of the event.

The main event at the Lied Center of Kansas, will feature author and digital creator John Green in conversation with Giselle Anatol, director of KU’s Hall Center for the Humanities. All tickets to the in-person event were claimed in less than three days, prompting organizers to offer additional options for the KU and Lawrence communities to connect and participate.

Exhibit Opening: Travel, Tourism, and the Transmission of Knowledge in and Around Japan

Jeff Breazeale is a designer, brand strategist and founding partner at The Matchbox Studio. He has worked for over 25 years helping clients identify brand opportunities and develop creative solutions. At The Matchbook Studio, Breazeale has led teams developing work for clients that include American Airlines, Dallas Museum of Art, FedEx, Fossil, Neenah Paper, The State Fair of Texas, and dozens more. In 2020, Breazeale launched MBX Real Estate Creative, a sister-agency to Matchbox dedicated to multi-family residential branding.

📸 Rural Kansas Photography Contest
Deadline: September 30
We are excited to partner with Kansas Country Living magazine for the sixth year in a row. Kansas Country Living is designed to educate Kansas electric cooperative consumer-members on topics that impact rural electrification. With a circulation of more than 133,000, it is an integral communications channel that builds member support for electric cooperatives in Kansas while keeping them informed of the latest news, energy efficiency tips, emerging technology (electric vehicles, smart devices that help save energy) and electrical safety.
The Kansas Country Living editorial team will choose from all of the entries a $100 grand-prize winning photograph that will be featured on the January 2026 cover of the magazine.

KU Student Ambassadors represent KU by giving one-hour walking tours of campus, participating in panels, answering questions, and chatting with future Jayhawks. Other duties include preparing materials to assist Admissions staff in facilitating daily visits to prospective students and families.
