We welcomed Drum Corps International for the annual Whitewater Classic on July 11, and have hosted a bevy of youth camps. We’ll talk to you again in mid-August.

Spring Dean’s List honorees, graduates announced |
Student success was prominent at UW-Whitewater during the spring 2026 semester. More than 3,500 Warhawks earned spots on the Dean’s List in a recognition of consistent academic excellence across the semester, while more than 1,850 graduates earned degrees from UW-Whitewater.

Thursday: Madison Mallards game
|
Join us! UW-Whitewater Day at the Madison Mallards is this Thursday, July 23. Tickets, priced between $30-$37, include game admission, a grandstand seat, and 90 minutes of unlimited food and beverages before the game. Gates open at 5:35 p.m.; first pitch is at 6:35 p.m.

| July 27-31: Surplus sales
|
UW-Whitewater at Rock County will host a surplus sale in Janesville next week Monday-Tuesday, July 27-28, from 8 a.m. to noon in the Wells Cultural Center gymnasium (lower level). A surplus sale will be held in Whitewater next week Thursday-Friday, July 30-31, from 8 a.m. to noon in the Community Engagement Center, located at 1260 W. Main St. Shop office furniture, chairs, bookshelves, tables, and more, all priced to sell. Cash and checks accepted only.

Dine with friends, family, and fellow Warhawks during Warhawk Dining’s Purple Plate Catering. Enjoy a social hour and catered meal at three iconic campus locations — The Young (July 30), Perkins Stadium (Aug. 6), and the Campus Garden (Aug. 13). Sign up for one, two, or all three! A portion of proceeds support the university’s greatest needs. Space is limited.

Nine members of the UW-Whitewater men’s and women’s track and field team competed at the 2026 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships in La Crosse. Cici Stennett (pictured, at center), a management major from Barrington, Illinois, and seven others garnered All-America accolades.

| Baseball, men’s tennis athletes selected as All-Americans
|
Gradin Taschner, an entrepreneurship and innovation major from Neenah, was named a fourth team All-American in baseball by D3baseball.com. Teammate Aaron Holland, a finance major from Wheaton, Illinois, earned Gold Glove accolades from the American Baseball Coaches Association. Theo Billson (pictured), a mathematics major from Lindfield, England, collected All-America honors in men’s tennis.

Kudos to the University Branding and Communications (UBC) team, which collected six national Collegiate Advertising Awards, the third most in the country for an institution of our size. Kudos to Timothy Holian, senior lecturer of world languages and cultures, who was the featured speaker at this year's Annual Meeting of the Friends of Max Kade Institute on May 2 in West Allis. He delivered a presentation entitled "Post-Prohibition Brewing in Milwaukee.”

Tony Gulig, associate professor of history, was featured in a Milwaukee Journal Sentinel article posted on the website Blue Water Healthy Living about Wisconsin residents seeking Canadian citizenship. Gulig was interviewed about his research into his family’s Canadian heritage. Tony Gulig »

UW-Whitewater’s Enactus chapter was the subject of a story by TMJ4 about winning its second straight national championship and the work its RenewTowns project has done to lift up small businesses in Whitewater. Interviewees included James Drucker, a finance major from Madison, Marina Neitzke, a business analytics and supply chain management major from Oshkosh, and Adam Latella, assistant wrestling coach and lecturer of kinesiology. "Persuader," a painting by Zack Zdrale, lecturer of art and design, is one of 60 finalists (out of 1,600 entries) on display in the New Salem Museum of Art's 2026 International Painting Competition. UW-Whitewater awarded $225K to enhance emergency preparedness

A total of $225,000 in federal funding secured by U.S. Senator Tammy Baldwin will be managed by UW-Whitewater to create a technologically advanced and sustainable Emergency Operations Center for the region.
