Accessibility To-Dos

Following our Provost’s recent communication on accessibility, this semester we're enhancing course digital accessibility by focusing on these three key areas:

accessible syllabi,
alternative text for images, and
descriptive hyperlinks.

These changes will improve the learning experience for all students, especially those using assistive technologies. Detailed instructions on each of the key areas this semester are available on the ETLC Accessibility webpage.

Tired of SIEs Being Your
Only Course Feedback?

Join us on Tuesday, October 22nd at 9 am to learn more about Course Design Review (CDR). Fill out the registration form to receive the Zoom link.

Advantages include:

Recognition of faculty effort in teaching
Validation of course design in line with widely established best practices
Opportunity to enhance course

On November 7th at 9 am, learn more about course alignment, one of the standards in CDR. Use the same link to register .

Accommodations in Canvas

If you are giving a timed quiz on Canvas and have students who have DSS sanctioned accommodations, learn how to set up your New or Classic quiz to take care of this.

Professional Development on Neurodiversity

You have the opportunity to participate in a free asynchronous 4-module online course to get an introduction to neurodiversity and ideas to think about how to make your course more inclusive. This website contains more information and the link to sign up for the course.
