Top Five Things to Know

From the Office of Provost Peggy Agouris

OFFICE OF THE PROVOST
WEEKLY MESSAGE ARCHIVE

Dear colleagues,

What an extraordinary journey for our W&M women’s basketball team! From last week’s historic NCAA tournament win over High Point to this weekend’s hard-fought game against the #1 seed, they’ve inspired us with every step. It’s been a season of firsts, and one we’ll never forget. Congratulations to our phenomenal players, outstanding coaches, and the entire athletics staff for making Tribe history!

Here are the top “5 Things to Know” this week:

  1. You are invited to the Art, Science & Cultural Convergence workshop today, March 24, at 5:30 p.m. in the Studio Theatre at Phi Beta Kappa Memorial Hall. The ASE hosts Lydia Fort, MFA and David Lynn, PhD of Emory University for a faculty-focused workshop on collaborative teaching and scientific transculturalism. Students are also welcome. This is a free event, but please RSVP. Refreshments will be available in the lobby following the session.

  2. One of the world’s leading conservation scientists will address graduates at W&M’s 2025 Commencement ceremony. Read more about M. Sanjayan, CEO of Conservation International and host of the PBS series “Changing Planet.”

  3. Please take five minutes to respond to the Workday End-User Readiness Survey by April 2. Your responses are completely anonymous and will be used to help us develop future communications and engagement plans for the project.

  4. Join colleagues from Libraries and STLI in a hands-on workshop focused on increasing accessibility in your Blackboard courses tomorrow, March 25, from 12:30-1:30 p.m. Learn to view your Ally score, fix common accessibility issues, and find resources for making PDFs accessible. This session includes time to work on your Ally report, so please bring a laptop. Lunch will be provided to participants.

  5. This week’s shoutout goes to the team behind the 15th Annual Lemon Project Symposium, which took place at the School of Education and virtually last week. Organized around the theme of “Undefeated: Black Resilience through Resistance, Creativity, and Cooperation,” the event included over 20 panel discussions and a keynote address by novelist Daniel Black. Fantastic work!
