University of Tennessee Postdoctoral Fellowship Opportunity in AI

The Center for the Dynamics of Social Complexity (DySoC) at the UT, Knoxville, invites applications for a one-year Postdoctoral Fellowship beginning Fall 2025. The fellow will pursue an independent research project that connects AI with at least one of DySoC’s core themes: Cultural Evolution, Social Complexity of Science, or Computational Social Science.

The position welcomes early-career scholars whose work examines societal change and social complexity through these lenses. For the 2025–26 cycle, proposals focused on how AI—such as Large Language or Reasoning Models—is reshaping cultural, scientific, cognitive, or social evolution are encouraged. Example topics include AI’s impact on knowledge flow, cultural dynamics, scientific discovery, and human–AI interaction. The fellowship offers opportunities for interdisciplinary collaboration, grant-writing, and engagement with DySoC’s global research network.
