Where have all the experts gone?
by Emily Lang
After 11 years in business, my partner and I hired a business consultant to help guide our firm through the next evolution of our company. On weekly calls, we talk through business processes in broad terms and specific pain points in a way that’s honest and constructive. The conversations have been informative and, on some days, downright inspirational. I’ve wondered why we didn’t do this sooner.
Seeking expert advice really shouldn’t be a last resort. If we’re smart, we do it often.
In the age of social media, people sometimes do it in the public square. Log in to Facebook to find questions posed on timelines and public groups regarding everything from what to wear to medical advice for pets and people alike.
“How many C-sections is too many for a dachshund?” (Two.)
“Should I get a covid shot if I’m pregnant?” (Yes, and no, I am not.)
“Has anyone tried Ma Der and is it good?” (No, but it’s on my list.)

Rotary around the world
Paul and Judy Moore recently belatedly celebrated their 50th anniversary on a trip to the British Isles and Europe, after a 2 1/2 year delay due to Covid.
While in Ring of Kerry, Ireland they connected with Edward Quek See Fang and his wife Lee, who are members of the Rotary Club of Singapore. Lee was their first female President. Edward and Lee are very excited about Singapore hosting the RI Convention in May, 2024.
Congratulations, Paul and Judy Moore!

Rotary Dues Increase - Jan. 1, 2023 - A Message from President Wes
Fellow Rotarians, At the Sept. 27 lunch meeting, we shared some news about a conversation that began over two years ago. Prior to the pandemic, it was clear to our administration committee, budget committee, and board of officers and directors that a dues increase would be necessary for the club to maintain a balanced budget. With the arrival of the pandemic, we were able to delay that conversation. As we’ve seen a return to normal club operations, meetings, and service, we’ve also seen an increase in almost every expense of the club due to inflation and we were forced to revisit the conversation. At the recommendation of our administration and budget committees, the 2021-2022 board of officers and directors approved a dues increase of $15 per quarter, or $5 a month, effective January 1, 2023. Advertising Space Available
Advertising support makes it possible for Club 29 to publish news and information critical to our members, such as meeting notices, speaker schedules, and other crucial communications. Your message would be seen by our community's most prominent leaders and gain incredible exposure on the world wide web. The advertising revenue pays for the software we use to design and distribute the newsletters as well as Club 29's website hosting, so your support is important to all members. There are a few ad spaces available, but filling them is very important for our club’s member communications. If you are interested, you may find more information here or call the Rotary office.
