The 2024-2025 Fulbright Cycle is in Full Swing

The Fulbright U.S. Student Program is the largest U.S. cultural exchange program offering international opportunities to pursue a graduate degree, conduct research, or teach English. Our office is about to kick-off a summer of advising sessions, workshops, and resources to help you develop a competitive application. The deadline for advising appointments is coming up shortly! To get a good start on the campus process, submit an interest form and register for an advising appointment by June 5.

Summer Research Scholars: A Summer of Fun and FUNdamentals in Research

The Summer Research Scholars Program is a summer-long series offering a mix of professional development seminars and networking opportunities like kayaking and rock climbing. See the full summer itinerary on our website. All UTK undergraduate students and visiting summer students engaged in research or creative projects can participate in Summer Research Scholars. At the end of the summer, participants may present at the Summer Research Scholars Symposium. If interested, then please register here.

Present Your Research This Summer

Our annual Summer Research Scholars Symposium is on Tuesday, July 25 this year and we look forward to seeing you and your research poster. This event will be open to the public for viewing. All summer scholars are welcome to present! The deadline to submit your poster title and abstract is Monday, July 17.

URF is Hiring a Graduate Assistant

We are hiring a graduate assistant for Fall 2023 to Summer 2024! You must be enrolled as a full-time graduate student during the next academic year. The URF GA will assist with Gilman Scholarship and Critical Language Scholarship programming in the fall and undergraduate research programming during the spring and summer at UT. URF Travel Grants for Conference

Presenting at a conference off-campus? Then apply for a URF Travel Grant! Travel Grants are for undergraduate researchers who have been accepted to present their research or creative work at a non-UT sponsored conference or event. Grants vary by location: $300 for in-state conferences, $500 for national conferences, $800 for international conferences, and $100 for virtual conference registration. Undergraduate Research and Fellowships Work Study Positions

We are hiring! URF needs federal work study front office assistants, a Front-End Web Developer, and a Social Media Manager. Front Office Assistants will work at the URF front desk, greet visitors, assist with administrative tasks, and support on-campus events and student programs. The Front-End Web Developer must have knowledge of WordPress and will assist with website maintenance and improvements. The Social Media Manager must have working knowledge of Instagram and LinkedIn. They will assist with the social media content creation, scheduling, and outreach. Student workers must have been awarded federal work study in their financial aid package (as listed on your MyUTK page). Please view the job descriptions and apply through the UTK JobX portal here!
