How Al-Anon’s links of service connect members, groups, and Areas
Some groups celebrate their anniversary with a speaker meeting or a special gathering. Are you curious about when your group started meeting? Have you considered checking your group’s literature box?
Sometimes, this information can be found at the bottom of the “box,” where various pieces of forgotten information tend to reside. Other possible sources for this information include the District, the local Al‑Anon Information Service/Intergroup, the Area Archives or Group Records, and even longtime members!

What Are the Links of Service About? |
From all walks of life, we enter the rooms of Al‑Anon, find belonging and membership, and embark on a recovery journey. Our common bond is that we’ve all been affected by someone else’s drinking.
Once we become a member of a group and participate in its business meetings, we are introduced to the links of service. Find out more about these service roles, and how stepping into one can strengthen your recovery.
