Fit Foundations is a 6-week, science-based training program tailored for individuals seeking to enhance their fitness journey. While certain health practices can aid in weight management, they may also result in muscle loss, fatigue, and decreased bone density if not complemented with an appropriate exercise and nutrition plan.
Our program provides the missing piece — a safe, supportive way to build strength, preserve lean muscle, protect bone health, and boost energy.
Each week combines:
|
- Education on exercise, recovery, and nutrition
- Full-body strength training guided by certified trainers
- Cardio and mobility strategies to enhance heart health and energy
|
Participants receive InBody scans, personalized feedback, and a progressive workout plan they can continue long after the 6 weeks are over. Fit Foundations helps you lose weight the right way — keeping your strength, bone health, and confidence intact for life.

| Congratulations to our April Employee of the Month, Mallory!
Having joined Active just over six months ago, Mallory has quickly become a valued member of the team. One of her favorite activities at Active is taking classes with coworkers in the ZONE, where she can fully utilize the state-of-the-art equipment.
Motivated by the physical and mental challenges that working out provides, Mallory has developed a strong sense of discipline and commitment. This dedication has allowed her to push beyond perceived limits and achieve goals she once thought impossible. Among various exercises, the barbell back squat stands out as her favorite.
Outside of the club, Mallory enjoys a variety of outdoor activities, such as visiting the lake or river, running with friends and her dog, snowboarding, and playing sports. She is extremely thankful for the welcoming and uplifting community at Active Wellness Center Petaluma, which has played a significant role in her personal and professional growth.
Way to go, Mallory!

| We’re so happy to highlight our April Member of the Month, Allan!
Allan has been a member of the club since the Club One days. He stays motivated by the health benefits of exercise and continuously works to improve his fitness level. By regularly utilizing weights and cardio, Allan is able to enhance his endurance, strength, and balance.
At the club, his favorite exercise is weight training. “Janessa’s weight training sessions focus on technique and form, all while emphasizing correct breathing. Since I am blind, her descriptions of each exercise help me understand how to perform them correctly,” he adds.
Now retired, Allan, along with his wife Marilyn, enjoys traveling, going to musicals and dramatic theater, attending concerts, and spending quality time with friends and family.
“I am blind, and I have a guide dog who assists me in my daily life. At the club, staff and members respect my working relationship with my guide dog, Tulare. I know they want to pet and play with Tulare, but they understand that Tulare needs to focus on his job, which is me. I know Tulare’s presence brings joy and laughter to staff and members, and I appreciate how Tulare can add another layer of peace, joy, and happiness to the club’s social environment.”
Thank you for sharing your story, Allan! We’re delighted to celebrate you as one of our amazing members.

Why Does Strength Training Help You Live Longer?
|
Strength training improves healthy aging by maintaining muscle mass which:
|
- Acts as a longevity organ: Muscle isn’t just for looks; maintaining it keeps you strong, steady, and independent as you age.
- Regulates your systems:Â A consistent routine improves metabolic health, regulates blood sugar, and supports hormone balance.
- Protects your skeleton:Â Lifting weights improves bone density, which protects against osteoporosis and age-related decline.
