As part of the Mt. Whitney Hall project, the crosswalk at State University Drive and Residence Way will be under construction from May 26 through July 6.
The closure is necessary to safely complete improvements to the pedestrian crossing connecting North Village to the main campus. The upgraded crosswalk will be elevated and widened to improve pedestrian visibility, encourage slower vehicle speeds, and enhance overall campus safety.
During this period, a full closure of State University Drive will be in effect between Residence Way and the Riverfront Center/Faculty Staff Lot 2 area. State University Drive will be closed to through traffic in both directions. Vehicles approaching the closure will be required to turn around and follow the posted detour routes shown below.
Detour signage will be posted throughout the area to direct vehicular and pedestrian traffic. A temporary ADA-accessible ramp will also be installed to support travel across State University Drive near Residence Way.
