Save the Date: Faculty and Staff Christmas Party and Toy Drive |
Join UCO President Todd G. Lamb and First Lady Monica Lamb for the annual Faculty and Staff Christmas Party and Toy Drive from 2-4 p.m., Wednesday, Dec. 4, in the Nigh University Center Ballrooms.
Attendees will be entered into drawings for an array of giveaways. You must be present to win. The university will also continue the annual Edmond HOPE Center toy drive; one additional ticket will be received for each toy donated.

Bronchos Eye MIAA Championships in Thrilling Wins |
UCO Football secured a thrilling 28-27 victory over Washburn, clinching at least a share of the MIAA football title for the first time since joining the league in 2012. The Bronchos came back from a 21-13 deficit, and UCO's defense blocked a potential game-winning field goal in the final seconds to secure the win. UCO, now 9-1 overall, leads the MIAA standings and will aim for an outright title in the final game of the regular season Saturday, Nov. 16, against Emporia State.
UCO Soccer also took their quarterfinal match in the MIAA championships down to the wire. The Bronchos were able to win 1-0 in overtime against Northeastern State. UCO Soccer will move to the semifinals against Washburn Thursday, Nov. 14, in Wichita, Kansas.

The No. 11-ranked UCO Volleyball team defeated Pittsburg State and Newman over the weekend. The Bronchos easily beat Newman in straight sets for their 17th sweep of the season, reaching a 25-2 overall record and 12-2 in the MIAA. The win marked the 14th 25-win season in UCO history and the seventh under head coach Edgar Miraku. UCO will conclude the regular season at home next weekend against Washburn and Emporia State.

Rebekah George Named MIAA Offensive Player of the Year |

Rebekah George, a senior forward on the UCO Soccer team, was recently named MIAA Offensive Player of the Year. In addition to George, five other Bronchos earned post-season recognition.
George transferred to UCO last summer and has led the league in goals scored and total points this season. She produced 10 goals along with four assists for a total of 24 points.
George is the second player from UCO to earn MIAA Offensive Player of the Year honors.

Mental Health First Aid, Nov. 15 |
UCO’s Center for Counseling and Well-Being will offer Mental Health First Aid Training from 8:30 a.m.-4 p.m., Friday, Nov. 15, in the Nigh University Center, Room 202. The training will teach participants how to identify, understand and respond to signs of mental health and substance use challenges. The training is free for UCO students, faculty and staff. Upon completion of the course, participants receive a three-year certification as a trained mental health first aider. Registration is required and can be completed online.
After completing the training and the post-survey, participants will be entered into a drawing for a $10 Target gift card. Gift cards will be emailed to the winners.

Thanksgiving Canned Goods Drive |
UCO student organization Tomorrow's Alcohol/Drug Counselors of America is hosting a Thanksgiving canned goods drive to support local youth. Items may be dropped off in the collection boxes located on the first and second floors of the Liberal Arts building by Nov. 21. Donations will benefit Pivot and Lilyfield, two local nonprofits dedicated to helping youth in our community.

DSS Final Exam Accommodations Deadline, Dec. 2 |
The UCO Office of Disability Support Services (DSS) encourages faculty to remind students to schedule final exams in the DSS Testing Center if they are in need of exam accommodations. The deadline to register is noon, Dec. 2.
During finals week, available exam times will be 8:30 a.m., 11 a.m. and 1 p.m., and must be completed by 4:45 p.m. Faculty should work with students to decide the best time for exams.
Any student who needs to take finals in the DSS Testing Center must be currently registered with DSS and have accommodations that cannot be met in the classroom environment.

Wrestling and Basketball Keep Early Season Momentum |
The No. 2-ranked UCO Wrestling team narrowly defeated No. 3 McKendree 19-18 in a close Division II wrestling matchup, as the Bronchos moved to 2-0 on the season with their 24th consecutive dual victory.
UCO Men’s Basketball posted double-digit wins to open their season with a 2-0 record. The Bronchos won by 16 points Friday night against the University of Mary and by 15 points Saturday against Northwestern Oklahoma State to wrap up the Central Region Challenge at Hamilton Field House.
