We are pleased to inform you that the Student Government Association (SGA) senate recently approved a proposal for a modest increase in the student activity fee, effective fall 2024.
This fee, assessed to all students, is a direct investment into student life at Stevens. The SGA allocates these resources to support club and organization programs, activities and more. Learn more here.
The last adjustment to the student activity fee was in 2016, when it was raised to $230. Since then, many new organizations have formed, expectations of the student experience have increased, and the fee has not been adjusted to reflect significant inflation.
Beginning in fall 2024, the student activity fee will rise to $275 per semester. The following year, the student activity fee will increase to $325 per semester.
An increase in the student activity fee will further enhance the student experience, boost student satisfaction and increase student body engagement. Student organizations may expect to have access to more funding, and additional resources will be available for large-scale campus and community events like Tech Fest, Winter Wonderland and Founder’s Day Ball. While we recognize that fee adjustments may pose challenges, we are confident the improvements in campus activities will be appreciated.
For student organization leaders, detailed guidance on navigating the budget request process for Fall 2024 will be provided in due course.
