Dear Friends,

Happy Summer! It has been a very hot summer so far! It is important to check in on loved ones to make sure they are taking care of themselves in this heat. It is also imperative to do internal check ins to make sure we are ok and practicing self love, care, and confidence.

Melody Godfred’s short poem “Self Confidence” reminds the reader of how strong they are (even during a heatwave):

Fear of confrontation used to silence me.
Self love raised my voice.
Fear of failure used to immobilize me.
Self love emboldened me.
Fear of judgement used to consume me.
Self love made me whole.
Fear of abandonment used to anchor me.
Self love helped me set sail.

Below are two blog posts on employment and family law. The first post is called New Federal Rule Means Some Salaried Workers Must Be Paid More or They Qualify for Overtime and the second is called Is it Time to Divorce Your Alcoholic Spouse?

Please let us know if we may be helpful to your friends, your family, or you. Our primary practice areas remain family law, employment law for workers or management, and general civil and criminal/municipal court advocacy. If you need a lawyer here or elsewhere in practice areas we do not handle, then we will make appropriate referrals for you, free of charge.

If you’ve had enough and the impact upon the kids and you is bad, then it may be time to close a chapter in your life and open a new one...
