Upcoming Milestones and Events:
Sunday, February 11 - 5th-grade parent meeting at 10 am in the chapel to learn more about the Puberty Milestone
Sunday, Feb. 25 - 5th Grade Puberty Milestone, noon - 3 pm with parents joining at 2:30, lunch is included
Sunday, March 3 - 4th Grade Mission Milestone during Sunday School with parents
Sunday, March 3 - 6th Grade Milestone, lunch and conversation with parents
Saturday, March 23 - EASTER EGG HUNT 10 AM - for 2-year-olds through 4th grade
SAVE THE DATE - NaCoMe weekend - April 6 and 7. Please join us for a fun unplugged weekend and with church family!! We have so much fun, eat well, and stay in cabins. Look for sign-ups before long.
Spreading some Love
Every so often, Valentine’s Day is also Ash Wednesday, the beginning of Lent.

Lent is often associated with a time to give things up, and almost punish ourselves. That is not what Lent is about. Lent is a time to come closer to God. So rather than give something up, think about what might bring you closer to God.

Valentine’s Day is all about love and is often associated with romantic love. We can choose to make this heart-filled day about all kinds of love, including friends and family.

When we consider these things together it is a little easier to see the beginning of Lent and Valentine’s Day together. The heart of the Christian story is we come from Love and to Love we return.

God gave us Emmanuel out of deep and abiding love for each of us.

  Here is one idea to share some love this Valentine’s Day/ Ash Wednesday that might bring you closer together as a family and to God.

   Take time for each person to share what they love most about the others around the table. Let this be the night you decide how your family will show God’s love in action during Lent. Will you visit a seniors’ center, help out at an animal shelter or community food pantry, clean up a public park, or make treats for the volunteer fire station? It can be simple things too like holding a door open and smiling at the neighbors, anything done in love is a win.

Little children, let’s not love with words or speech but with action and truth.
