| Tonight the UT Tower will be lit in honor of the President’s Staff Awards, which includes Staff Service Award honorees, the winners of the Outstanding Staff and Supervisor Awards, and the winner of the Student Employee of the Year. Prior to the tower lighting, an early evening reception is being held to further celebrate our recipients in the Shirley Bird Perry Ballroom
The Staff Service Awards program recognizes the importance of the contributions of loyal and committed staff to the continuing success of the university. Recognition is based on length of service. This year, over 850 employees were honored starting at 10 years of eligible service and every 5 years thereafter. See the Staff Service Awards website for more information on eligibility, details about the program, and the 2023 recipient list. This year we are honored to recognize three 50 year recipients — Kathleen Kaderka, Cheryl Pyle, and Laurence Trafton along with two 55 year recipients — Barbara Bridges and J. Cole McClennan.
The Outstanding Staff and Supervisor Awards program honors and recognizes the invaluable contributions of outstanding staff and supervisors who have had a significant impact on the university. This year 30 staff members, 4 supervisors, and one student employee of the year were selected from a highly competitive pool of nominations. Please visit the Outstanding Staff Awards, the Outstanding Supervisor Awards, and the Student Employee of the Year webpages for a list of winners.
Please consider using the Tower lighting as an opportunity to bring friends and family to campus for photographs tonight. On behalf of the entire campus community, we thank our President’s Staff Award recipients for their tireless dedication to supporting our university’s goal of becoming the highest-impact public research university in the world.
