A major Canadian company that manufactures and distributes oriented strand board (OSB) panels and lumber. uses exterior-grade, waterproof resin glue to bond wood strands together, creating a structurally sound and moisture-resistant panel. follows strict environmental and safety standards for its resins and manufacturing processes, specifically focusing on sustainable sourcing and low emissions. An extremely important key to the manufacturer of OSB is the accuracy and reliability of adding the resin glue to the process, Too little resin the board strands do not adhere correctly, too much and it wastes money by over applying the resin glue.
After several TEAMS meetings and visit the customers site it was determined that a Vibra Screw Model 2VHD bulk Bag Unloader with integral hoist & Trolley would be used to discharge the resin from the FIBC Bulk Bag. From the Bulk Bags the material is conveyed using a Tubular drag conveyor which transfers the material to a Vibra Screw Live Bottom Bin for storage. Note, the tubular drag conveyor was selected because the resin glue is extremely sensitive to heat. The drag conveyor generated very little heat when running.
From the Live Bottom Bin the material is discharged to a Vibra Screw Loss-In-Weight Feeder that accurately meters the resin at a rate of 150 kg/hr. The material is than conveyed to the wood chip blender using an eductor conveying system with regenerative blower. Vibra Screw supplied all the motor and weighing control package.
