Dee Bradley Baker ’86

By Alexa Gromko

Colorado College is pleased to announce that one of Hollywood’s most celebrated voice actors, Dee Bradley Baker ’86, has been selected to give the Commencement Ceremony address to the Class of 2026 on Sunday, May 17, from 8:30-11 a.m., inside Ed Robson Arena.

Baker earned his BA in Philosophy at CC in 1986 with extensive study in German, plus a wide-ranging mix of biology and art courses. He lists some of his favorite classes as invertebrate zoology, painting, and Buddhism. He also spent much of his time at CC in choir and on stage, an early foundation for his performance career.

Thank you for helping Grow the Good!

Graphic titled “Your Impact in Full Bloom” for Colorado College Giving Week showing $150,767.39 raised from 218 gifts by 204 donors supporting 37 funds, with a photo below of people forming the letters “CC” on a campus field with mountains in the background.

CC’s first-ever Grow the Good Week showcased the power of our community coming together in support of the programs and opportunities that help students thrive.

Philanthropy across the CC ecosystem was on full display: 20% of donors were faculty, staff, or students, and we had 100% participation from CC's Cabinet members.

Thank you to everyone who gave, spread the word, or cheered the effort on. Together, we’re helping good things grow at CC.

Visit the Grow the Good website to learn more about the effort and see what we were able to achieve together.

Event Planning for 2026-27 Starts Now

The College Events Operational Group (CEOG) invites campus partners to submit events for the 2026-27 academic year in Momentus by Tuesday, March 31. Early submissions help coordinate logistics, reduce scheduling conflicts, and support the One CC Experience across campus.

Events are organized into five categories:

  1. Signature
  2. College Business
  3. Athletics
  4. Student
  5. Community/Conferences/Chapel

*Subcategories exist within each category, allowing us to effectively provide support where needed.

Submissions received after March 31 will require CEOG review and approval.

Because campus parking is limited, all events requiring parking must coordinate with the Parking Office in advance to confirm arrangements. Review guidelines and submit requests through the Event Parking Website.

Questions? Contact events@coloradocollege.edu.

St. Patrick’s Day Parade Parking Notice

The City of Colorado Springs will host the annual St. Patrick’s Day Parade on Saturday, March 14, with the parade route running along Tejon Street from Cache La Poudre Street to Vermijo Avenue.

FAC Corner

Craft Lab: Ukrainian Egg Decorating (Pysanky)

Close-up of several brightly colored Ukrainian pysanky eggs decorated with intricate geometric and floral patterns in red, yellow, green, black, and white.

Photo provided by the FAC

Tomorrow, Saturday, March 14, 10 a.m.-noon, explore the luminous folk tradition of pysanky—Ukrainian wax-resist egg decorating. Using a kistka (stylus), beeswax, and layered dyes, you’ll draw symbols, build color from light to dark, and reveal intricate patterns in the final wax melt. Learn the meaning of motifs, how to plan color sequences, and how to seal and preserve your work. No experience necessary, and all tools and dyes provided. Participants will leave with one or two finished eggs.

Gifts That Shape Us

Painted portrait of a young woman seated on a bench, wearing a long white dress, with carved wooden panels behind her.

"Portrait of Miss Elsie Palmer" or "A Lady In White" by John Singer Sargent, 1889-1890. Collection of the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center at Colorado College. Museum purchase through Debutante Ball Purchase Fund. FA 1969.3.1.

From the FAC museum’s earliest days, gifts of art have shaped this institution and the permanent collection it stewards. More than half of the collection arrived through the generosity of artists, donors, and others who gifted important works or funds that have made key purchases possible. These acts of giving didn't just add works; they defined the collection's scope and vision.

Alice Bemis Taylor’s foundational gift of art from the Southwest grounded the FAC in this region. Meredith Sage Hare's donation of American modernist paintings and sculptures set sights on the avant-garde. Subsequent gifts have continued this dual commitment—grounded in the Southwest, attentive to what's new—while also broadening the FAC’s collecting scope. This exhibition, running from March 18, 2026-March 13, 2027, brings together gifts from across the museum’s 90-year history, from foundational donations to recent acquisitions that continue shaping the collection today.
