Explore some ideas of Einstein’s theory, how they are connected to mathematics, and why this marriage between mathematics and physics still has many happy years ahead.
Marcelo Disconzi is an associate professor of mathematics at Vanderbilt University. He earned his PhD in mathematics from the State University of New York at Stony Brook in 2012. He works on mathematical aspects of general relativity and fluid dynamics, with a special focus on how gravity and fluids interact with each other.

A Feast of Festive Fall Events

Dyer Observatory is especially gorgeous in autumn as it sits among the changing treetops. We enjoyed a wide variety of events, but a few favorites included the Percy Priest Elementary songwriters night, a visit from Leadership Brentwood, two Bluebird on the Mountain concerts, and the Dyer team set up a booth at the Tennessee Science Teachers Association conference.
