In honor of David Silverman, 6/8/1958 - 4/12/2024

Earlier this year, we received word that a previous program participant, David Silverman, had passed away. David was first referred to The Arc-Solano's Transitional Service program in 1983 and he received services until 1987. David rejoined our program in 1995 and stayed until 2009, when he and his Circle of Support decided he needed care that was beyond our services.

David worked at PSI for many years and loved living independently. He liked to play bingo, poker, surfing the internet and doing workbooks. While David was with us, he developed many friendships with other TS program participants, including Bruce Miller. Upon hearing about his death, Bruce wanted to memorialize his friend through art and he created this lovely drawing. Bruce and his IHSS caregiver and former Arc employee, Dayl Brown, also made a generous donation in David's name.

Our next Sprout Film Festival is fast approaching! We will host it at the Vallejo Naval and Historical Museum on Sunday, October 13 at 1 pm. The event will feature an array of funny, heart-warming, and thought provoking short films from around the world that feature people with intellectual & developmental disabilities and their diverse lives. Fun movie snacks, a no-host bar, and an exciting silent auction will round out the evening!

The Arc@Arc artists rocked it at the 2024 Solano County Fair! This was the first year since 2019 that we have participated and we were able to submit 16 pieces of artwork. (Thank you Art@Arc Instructors Michael and Jordyn!) Everyone was so excited when we attended the fair and saw that our group was 7 ribbons!
