NASHVILLE, Tenn. – LynchPin Entertainment indie pop recording artist Sofia Lynch has announced the scheduled release of her new single, “Gasoline,”* dropping Friday May, 10, 2024 via all digital retail and streaming outlets.
Written Lynch and produced by Cory Plaugh, the original tune sequentially follows her recent single “Architect And The Arsonist” (March 2024) as an emotional, fiery reconvene. The revenge anthem chronicles the fallout of an ill-fated relationship and holds a pointed finger like a smoking gun toward an ex-lover who’s torched the romance in thoughtless disregard. Lynch’s intense vocal delivery paints vivid imagery of a scorned lover sifting through the scandalous and painful scenes of the destruction; biting lyrics sting with accusation.
“A sister song to ‘Architect And The Arsonist,’ ‘Gasoline’ is a continuation…”said the 22-year-old songwriter, and Nashville resident, Sofia Lynch. “It portrays the same betrayal, and explosive emotion, but is much angrier and more aggressive. The production reflects chaos and rage.”
Dramatic instrumentation builds to ignite the cinematic musical diary, raw angry lyrics and punch the melody. The bridge, spotlighting airy guitar, introduces an introspective and revolutionary reclamation of power in the final “Phoenix Rising” chorus as she rises from the ashes –”Now I’m rising above it…My ashes are wings…Burning up like a match on gasoline.” Harmonies throughout illuminate the haunting aura reflective of the flames in the aftermath.
“When building the track, we wanted the production to feel destructive,” Lynch added. “The lyrics reflect the tumultuous relationship of young adulthood. I experienced a huge catharsis while writing this song. This song encapsulates an attitude of ‘don't get sad, get even.’ Betrayal is no match for my fire!”
Sofia introduced the single “Architect And The Arsonist” in early March 2024, as the first in her 2024 Waterfall Series leading to her new CD anticipated in Fall 2024; “Architect And The Arsonist” has enjoyed more than 57,000 streams to date.
