Summer is coming! Longer days, warmer temps, and, you guessed it, a new faculty development series in the Teaching Academy. Join us for three sessions on educational research topics starting in June. June 11: An Introduction to Comics-Based Research

Making comics has rapidly become an innovative practice for researchers across a diverse range of academic disciplines. Comics can be incorporated into all stages of scholarly inquiry, including data generation, collection, and triangulation; data visualization and analysis; and research communication and dissemination. This hands-on workshop will provide a general introduction to Comics-Based Research, and we will engage in several drawing exercises to explore comics principles. We will provide all the necessary tools and supplies. In person: Dana Health Sciences Library Classroom.

 

July 16: Navigating the Maze of Methodology: Introduction to Educational Research Design

Beth Bierer, PhD, Med, Director of Assessment and Evaluation and Associate Professor of Medicine, Cleveland Clinic Lerner College of Medicine of CWRU.  Participation is capped at 25. Celebrating 10 Years of the Teaching Academy

The Teaching Academy celebrated its first decade on May 9, 2025 with a learning session “Translating Learning into Practice: Evidence-Based Strategies for Knowledge Transfer”  with Cynthia Nebel, PhD, Director of Learning Services, St. Louis University School of Medicine. Afterwards, current and former members and Larner College of Medicine leadership gathered for a special luncheon.
