We have volunteer opportunities with our Matthew 25 partnership with Glencliff Presbyterian Church and their food pantry, Nueva Vida located at 416 E. Thompson Lane 37211.

The most immediate need is for help unloading delivery trucks on Monday and Friday mornings at 9:00 a.m. This is a perfect volunteer project for retirees or folks with a flexible work schedule in good physical shape because there is some lifting involved, but we always share the load! We are usually done with this shift by noon.

We are grateful for Westminster's help these past years and are doing fine for Saturday volunteers. We are also grateful for the wonderful women from Westminster who have stepped up to cover the current bread collection shifts from around the city.  During the winter months when many of our clients are not able to work, we may add a food distribution day during the week and will let Westminster know our needs when those dates and times are confirmed.

Please contact Ralph Wheeler for more info.

James Lawson High School has some volunteer opportunities. Please contact Jackie Shrago if you can help with any of the following:

  • Math tutoring – as needed for small group sessions
  • Incentive days- 1-2 volunteers to host &
Assist in passing out small ‘rewards’
  • AVID – small group ‘problem solving’
  • Other needs- often pop up where 1-2 volunteers help

Neutral colors work best. We need sizes small through XXXL. Underwear is also needed. See link to purchase below.

Room In The Inn
Begins November 13

There is a distinct feel of fall in the air and very cold weather is around the corner. We are excited and solemn about the Room Inn The Inn fall/winter feeding and sheltering program at Westminster – excited because serving together is uplifting and solemn because serving in this ministry can be outside the comfort zone of some of our members yet engaging more members in this ministry is an important opportunity where the impact can span generations.
Room In The Inn resumes at Westminster November 13, 2024 with many opportunities for engagement for singles, families, or small groups Wednesday nights through March 26, 2025. We have many great opportunities to spend time with Westminster friends and 14 homeless male neighbors.
