WI22 - Week 2: Obey your thirst edition.

| Testin’ peace.
Peace of mind, that is. Be confident – and compliant – while following a personally tailored Winter Quarter COVID testing protocol based on factors like status and symptoms, among others.
Visit our VCSA site and RTL’s On-Campus Checklist for all the pertinent dates and deets on testing requirements, and in the meantime, we’ve provided the high-key lowdown with some DL highlights:
- ‘Cron on the swab? If you’ve been COVID positive in the past 90 days, you don’t need to undergo PCR testing during that three-month period. While your body’s pro-level antibodies are living their best life protection-wise, you may trigger a false positive – and you’re not statistically infectious to others.
- One test to rule them all (out). When THAs are handing out tests next to our vending machines, be sure to get your kit directly from them. But only one – the plastic clamshell containers are in short supply at the mo.
- Everyday I’m snifflin’. There’s also no need to test every day – think of the clamshells! – unless you truly do have symptoms every day.
- RATs, raced. Because err’body should complete a test 24-48 hours prior to arriving on campus, we’ll speedily ship a Rapid Antigen Test to your current location outside of SD County. Fill out the appropriate form for on-campus residents or off-campus students by Jan. 21.

| Ch@ng3 Y0ur P@SSword.
If you’re on our program, you devour Campus Notices like one of the @ThirstyTrytons on the prowl for TapEx milk tea, because information is power – and so is boba. If you’re not, and you happened to miss Monday’s ITS banger about required student PW changes, here’s the TLDR:
All y’all need to change your AD password this quarter. If you’re already back on campus, you can get it done now in a matter of seconds by hitting up password.ucsd.edu. Don’t forget to update your Wi-Fi settings with the new PW – so you can keep scrolling IG for 🔥 beverage reviews or, you know, do your homework.

| Geisels and dollys.
When you’re back on campus, you may notice some commotion around the 2nd (main) floor of Geisel Library – which remains open during remote learning, BTW – as part of a six-month reno project that will result in the addition of new study, meeting, and collaborative spaces for students (no word on finding a third floor, however!).
Inner space. During the current project, the Library will stay open with no loss of study seats/rooms or available computers. If you want to influence the next round of updates – and let’s be serious, maybe get some swag – please tell us your ideas for a next-gen Geisel via the Library’s IdeaWave campaign.

| Remote-us operandi.
Look, we know you're disenchanted with the remote status quo RN. Frankly, we’re in the same boat with you… all aboard SS Pandemic Fatigue, for real! With this in mind, please remember, as always, that science and data ultimately dictate our ability to safely repopulate campus in person.
Iso, you-so, we all so… responsible. Help us help you return to the in-person living and learning experiences we all miss by getting your booster, wearing a high-quality mask, and epitomizing our Triton Principles of Community wherever you are – including isolation and quarantine accommodations – where the Student Code of Conduct remains in effect.

Quick Hits and Bits - Perky Booster. You may recall from last week that there’s an incentive program on the horizon which involves Triton Cash for anyone who’s been boosted by the end of the month. Be sure to document any b-shots from non-UC San Diego providers so you get credit towards cash, boo!
- Research, partly. ICYMI, yesterday’s campus notice explains that during the initial winter quarter remote period: research functions that can be conducted off-site should be conducted off-site; and that there’s no requirement to report to campus for such activities. Contact your lab manager or PI if you have any safety concerns about on-site work.
- Ch-ch-changes. Discover how to create positive social change through public and community service, social innovation/entrepreneurship, social justice, and more during Changemaker Week starting next Monday, Jan. 17.
