In this issue: testing explained, In-n-Out, and mask facts, oh my!
WI22 - Week 1:Omicronic 2022 edition.
Fully vaxxed, or nah?
We know it can be hard to make sense of campus COVID-testing requirements, recommendations, suggestions, and soft pleas. To determine when you need to get your swab on, ask yourself a few questions:
While cloth masks may have single-handedly launched the careers of Etsy seamstresses and seamsters back in 2020, protection-wise, they’re just not cutting it now that Omicron’s on the scene. Surgical masks are better, but they rightly get a bad rap for their bad wrap – and tend to fit loosely around your nose and cheeks.
Double-double, no spread. Pair your cloth covering with a surgical mask – or opt for a high-quality N95/KN95 if you can – to do your part in crushing the ‘cron. Pick one up for free on campus at these KN95 distro locations.
Protection has its perks.
So far, more than 14K of you have already taken the plunge during our initial Boostin’ Out challenge, meaning that an additional $50,000 in funding will be allocated to support health and well-being in the Triton community. But wait, there’s more!
That new dose, tho. To help ensure that all eligible Tritons shoot their shot, we’re working on an incentive program that involves Triton Cash for anyone who’s been boosted by the end of the month. Stay tuned for details.
Quick Hits and Bits
Remote, controlled. With the start of in-person learning delayed ‘til Jan. 31, we’ve compiled a working list of remote resources to help Tritons stay connected, engaged, and active while campus is safely repopulated.
Park a D in S, or B. During the remote start to winter quarter, Transportation Serviceswill honor D permits in S and B spots. So, park closer and walk less – then knock out a Rec class (above) to make up for lost steps.
