Community Pillar
Strengthening Bonds!

¡Fortalece los vínculos!

At the heart of our mission, we create connections, promote inclusivity, and support Latiné/Hispanic staff at Duke. Through volunteer efforts and partnerships, we celebrate our heritage and strengthen our collective impact.
In December, our Community Pillar co-lead, Yvonne, volunteered at El Futuro’s “Las Posadas” event, spreading holiday joy as one of Santa’s helpers. El Futuro, based in Durham, is dedicated to providing comprehensive mental health services for Latino families in a bilingual environment. She assisted families in choosing toys, bringing smiles to children and gratitude from parents. “It was a wonderful way to give back and support El Futuro’s mission of fostering a healthier, happier future for Latino families through our ¡DAHLE! Community Pillar,” says Yvonne.

Culture Pillar
Celebrating Our Roots, Sharing Our Stories!
¡Celebra tus raíces!

The Culture Pillar celebrates the richness and diversity of Latiné/Hispanic heritage through traditions, stories, music, and food. We create spaces to explore and honor the shared values that connect us while embracing the unique experiences that make our community so dynamic. We aim to foster a sense of belonging and mutual appreciation making Duke a place where our voices and contributions shine brightly.
