What a tremendous first two days we've had! So many smiles and squeals of happiness from teachers and students alike, and we're excited to ride this high all the way to Sunday's Party in the Pines! Like Dickie V always said, this year's "going to be awesome, baby, with a capital A!"

Time with Tony

Those who know me well know that I am a sports fanatic. There are very few sports that I won’t watch, and a summer Olympic season is the most wonderful way to spend down time. I’m also fiercely loyal to the teams that I follow--familiar ones like the Cubbies and the Commanders, as well as various international teams like Australia's Richmond Tigers and England's mighty Reds of Man United. Unfortunately, to be a fan of these teams is extraordinarily frustrating. Both the Cubs and Tigers have had significant droughts without success, Man U is in the middle of a long drought now, and it looks like the Commanders' drought is permanent.

Beginning-of-Year Survey Open for Responses

PA Sip & Social Coming Up on 08/27

We can't wait to see you on August 27th from 8:00-9:00AM at Longleaf Cottage! Join us for this casual drop-in event to meet our PA Co-Clerks, connect with class parents, and learn about our school's volunteer opportunities and community events.

Party in the Pines

It's our first ALL-SCHOOL community event and, ohhhh boy, what a party it's going to be! A bouncy house, a friendship bracelet station with Lemon Crush Bead Bar, a sensory play station with Sensational Sensory Jars, and flavored Italian ice with Sunset Slush! Not to mention lawn games galore, like corn hole and giant bowling, jenga, and checkers, as well as craft stations and music! We can't wait to welcome you and your families to Longleaf this Sunday from 2-4PM. Please enter through the Camellia Lane gate and park on Francisco Field. Let's party in the pines, y'all!

After-School CARE & Trimester #1 Clubs

Note to our new families: After-school CARE is a daily program that allows students to stay at school until final pick-up at 5:30PM. Programming includes outdoor play, homework time, arts + crafts, and more. You can enroll in 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 days a week or on a drop-in, as-needed basis. After-school clubs are themed or topic-based sessions that typically meet once per week throughout the trimester. A new rotation of clubs will be available in December and again in March. Enrollment for both CARE and clubs happens here.

Everyone say "Hi Ash!" Ashton McCarty is a longtime after-school CARE and summer camp counselor who we are thrilled to announce is joining us as our Auxiliary Program Coordinator! A recent graduate of UNCW and rock climbing expert, Ashton brings a wealth of programmatic knowledge and an unwaveringly kind and calming demeanor to this position. In just the few short weeks he's been in this role, he has secured SEVEN after-school club opportunities for students from Stepping Stones through 8th grade. Gate Schedule & Visitor Check Ins

A friendly reminder that morning drop-off runs from 7:30-8:00AM. Please note that both the Camellia Lane and Peiffer Avenue gates will close promptly at 8:15AM and will not reopen until 2:40PM for afternoon pick-up, except for Preschool half-day pick-up at Camellia Lane. If you arrive outside of these hours, kindly park outside the Camellia gate and check in with Susan at the Preschool building. These protocols are in place to protect our students and maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated!
