PHUMC Women's Ministry Secret Galentine's SignUp Deadline is Today!

It's time for our 4th Annual Secret Galentine SignUp!  Galentine's Day is officially February 13, so let's spread some sisterly love!

If you are interested in participating, you will be responsible for dropping off a Valentine-themed surprise to a PHUMC Galentine between February 10th and February 13th. There is a price suggestion of approximately $25-$30. The gift should include a gift tag with your name. The questionnaire will allow us to pass along some of your preferences to your secret Galentine.

The last day to sign up is today, February 5th, and we will be sending out the secret Galentine names and responses on February 7th. Sign up here.

Please let us know if you have any questions about this event!

Much Love!

Sunday Marilyn Williams shared about her experience at Grace Place. She also shared about her search for a United Methodist Church committed to local missions and helping in the community. She knew she had found her church home when she heard about all the ways Parkway Hills reaches out in service.
We hope during these weeks of sharing, you have heard a story about how your giving is impacting the lives of those living in food insecurity and the lives of volunteers. We hope you have heard that your giving matters, and we hope you will committ to give in 2025. When we each play a part and give our own little bit, those little bits add up and we are able to accomplish more than we ever imagined. It is true we do best the things we do together.
Because of your faithful giving we were able to add Grace Place into our 2025 budget. This is just one ministry that your giving makes possible. Think of what more we can do if we each play our part. Sunday, February 9 you are invited to turn in your pledge card with your committment to the mission and ministry of Parkway Hills.
In 2025, what part will you play at Parkway Hills? Join in on all the good things already taking place!
Wednesday night meals and programming continue tonight, February 5th.
Congregational Care Team meets at 5:00 in room 108 off the Garden room. Then come enjoy some fried chicken at 5:45. Afterwards at 6:20 our new leaders will answer the PHUMC Questionnaire. Youth: Fire Pit/S’mores. Kids: Drama Night. Join us as we gather for food, fellowship, and faith formation.

Next Wednesday, February 12, we'll have pork loin for supper. Leadership Board will meet at 6:20 following dinner. RSVP here for the meal or by tearing off the reservation strip in Sunday's bulletin, or by calling the office. Reservations are due by noon on Monday.
And go ahead and order your book for our Wednesday night book club that will be March 19. Order a book online or buy at a bookstore and get started reading to be ready to discuss the book Life of the Beloved by Henri J.M. Nouwen.
Join us in partnering with East Flora Elementary School on Friday, February 28th for Read Across America Day. Volunteers will visit classrooms of all ages and read books with very appreciative students. We will meet at PHUMC at 7:30 a.m. and carpool to East Flora Elementary.

This is always such a wonderful experience. Sign up with this link if you are interested. Contact Pastor Haven if you have any questions.

Changes are happening in the Saturday morning ladies' brunch Zoom!

The Zoom was established as a response to COVID shutdowns in the spring of 2020. The weekly check-in has served as a way for women to connect and talk about their weeks ever since! Now, to get more people connected and involved, we will be shifting to a combination of Zoom and face-to-face gatherings. We will meet on Zoom the first Saturday of each month at 10 a.m. - with the exception of holiday weekends, when we will meet on the second Saturday of the month. We also will be hosting face-to-face meet-ups every other month. We are currently looking for someone willing to help coordinate these meetings. This simply involves setting the location and sending out reminders, as needed.
Join us!

A recent email from PHUMC Women's Ministry listed several activities taking place in the next few months. If you didn't receive it, you can read it here, and then email Linda to ask her to add you to our women's ministry email list. We don't want you to miss out on anything!
A PHUMC member has expressed interest in a Sit and Be Fit class to be offered at Parkway Hills.  This would be a 45 minute class once a week in the Garden Room. Exercises would be done from a sitting and standing (if able) position working on balance, hand-eye coordination, stretching, and muscle movement. Cost would be between $5 and $10 a class depending on how many attend. Options for the class time would be Tuesday or Wednesday at 2:00 pm. Please click here or call the church office to let us know if you are interested and which day would work for you and we will keep you updated as to whether we can offer this at Parkway Hills or not. If you would like to check out this class, it is currently being offered at the Community Center on Old Canton Road in Madison (by the fire department) Monday and Tuesday at 9:15 am.
Join us in the new year for Sunday School! The children's ministry will continue hearing the many stories in the Bible as we journey through the Old and New Testaments. All ages begin in the Garden Room at 9:30 a.m. for gathering time and activities. Then the classes break into small groups based on grade levels to explore the Bible stories. For more information on Sunday School curriculum and activities contact Haven.
Join us on Sunday, Feb. 23 in the Garden Room for the Children's Ministry Glow Party from 5:30 - 7:30 p.m. Dinner will be provided, along with many fun games and activities for children in grades 5th and under. Parents must stay for this event. Sign up here to assist with bringing snacks and drinks for the party. For more information, email Haven.
We always need volunteers to aid with our kids ministry. To sign up to teach an individual class one Sunday, *click here or contact Haven to be added to a rotation.
*All volunteers must submit a background check before volunteering with children and youth.
