|
Hello Jumbos!
In today's email, we introduce departments whose primary focus is health and wellness and which are supported by the Student Health and Wellness Fee. Please take your time to explore the information here and on our website. Feel free to contact any of the departments with further questions.

Additional Suggestions From CMHS |
To help make your transition to Tufts as smooth as possible, we recommend the following:
|
If you are currently in counseling:
|
Start looking over the summer for a provider near campus or who can treat you virtually in Massachusetts. Use our Off-Campus Care page, or contact your insurance company to find in-network providers. We recommend looking over the summer when providers have the most availability.
|
If you currently take medication(s) for mental health conditions:
|
- If you plan to continue care with your current clinician, make sure they can continue to provide your prescriptions, especially if they are in a different state. CMHS can not renew prescriptions written by a non-CMHS provider.
-
If you would like to transfer your psychiatric care to a CMHS clinician or a provider in the local Tufts community, bring a 3-month supply of your prescriptions from your current provider to cover your first few months on campus until you establish new care
-
Note: ADHD medication management through CMHS requires a few additional steps. Please check here for more details.
-
Identify a local pharmacy: Contact your insurance company to find the best pharmacy options for you in the area. Transfer your prescription to the local pharmacy of your choice. You may need to call your current and new pharmacies to transfer the prescription. Popular options include:
- CVS in Davis Square (about a 20-minute walk from campus)
- Inman Pharmacy (delivers to Health Service)
- Capsule Pharmacy (delivers to residential halls)
|
Center for Awareness, Resources, and Education (CARE) |
Located inside the Campus Center, CARE offers confidential and trauma-informed support for any students impacted by sexual misconduct.
Students come to CARE to talk confidentially about their social and sexual lives, including topics such as sexual health, safer sex, hookups, relationships, and sexual misconduct (harassment, assault, stalking, or relationship abuse).
All services are free and available to students with any identity or immigration status. Meetings can be in person, on Zoom, or over the phone, and can be anonymous. You can make an appointment through the CARE website.
CARE has 2 student groups focused on prevention: the Sex Health Reps (SHR) and Green Dot. CARE staff, student Sex Health Reps, and Green Dot students lead trainings for student organizations/teams, table with sex health supplies, and host campus-wide events. Follow them on Instagram @CARETufts, @TuftsSHR, and @TuftsGreenDot.
