Coaches’ Caucuses » Interested coaches should check out the schedule for our Coaches' Caucuses here. All sessions will meet in Grand Ballroom G and Grand Ballroom H (located on the third floor of the Convention Center). The 2018 Coaches' Caucuses are brought to you by Colorado College. Attend the First Time at Nationals Coach Reception » New(er) coaches are invited to join us at 10:00 a.m. in Grand Ballroom A (located on the third floor of the Convention Center) for one-on-one facetime with the organization’s Board of Directors and senior staff, including Executive Director J. Scott Wunn. You will have an opportunity to ask questions, become oriented to the tournament in a more personal manner, and enjoy the company of other new coaches. This event is presented by the generous contributions of the NSDA staff, their friends, and their families.
Building Your Power Through Speech and Debate » Students are invited to join Students Demand Action from 11:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. in Grand Ballroom C-E for a training on using your speech and debate skills to organize a movement. Students Demand Action provides a real world case study for applying speech and debate skills to organizing and advocacy to build a powerful movement for change.
World Schools Training and Demo Debate » Students and judges taking part in World Schools Debate should plan to attend training on Sunday in Grand Ballroom C-E from 1:45 p.m. to 3:45 p.m. This training, presented by McKinsey & Company, is required, even for those who took part last year! Prepare for the First Day of Competition » We encourage you to do a test drive on Sunday of the locations you are visiting throughout the week! It is the responsibility of each competitor, judge, and coach to arrive on time for competition. Arriving late may result in the forfeiture of a round.
