A timely theatre piece for families, Layer the Walls brings Manhattan’s immigrant history to life through puppetry and live performance. Meet Irish families facing discrimination and dangerous labor while building the Brooklyn Bridge, Italian brothers surviving prejudice and the Great Blizzard of 1888, and young Jewish garment workers risking everything during the 1909 Uprising of the 20,000. Together, these stories explore tenement life, labor rights, discrimination and resilience.
