Welcome      Grow       Serve      Celebrate

On the 5th day of Christmas….well, I hope it is at least still Merry! The wait of Advent is over, the song of Silent Night has been sung, the candles lit, and now we celebrate!!  It is easy to open the presents and immediately start cleaning up all the paper and move on, but our story of faith says something different.  Christmas Day may come and go every year, but the story it shares remains constant.  In Jesus, God did a new thing and this new thing has implications for our lives and our world yesterday, today, and tomorrow.  The next two Sundays we will reflect on this new thing, the revelation of God through Jesus.

Sunday, January 2 we will ring in the New Year by celebrating Epiphany and asking what the question is that Epiphany answers. Don’t know? Well, see you Sunday to find out. We will also celebrate Communion and have a chance to grab a Star Word for 2022.

Sunday, January 9 we remember the Baptism of Jesus and what this event in the life of Jesus tells us about who Jesus is and why Jesus has come.

Reminder: No Sunday School January 2.  Sunday School resumes January 9 @ 9:30.
The New Year is a great time to find a small group to accompany and support you in life and to aid you in your spiritual journey.

We will have amended office hours between Christmas and New Year's so that we may offer our staff some down time during this season.  Monday, December 27-Thursday, December 30, the office will close at 1:00.  We will continue to check voicemails at the office at the end of each day, and you may reach Pastor Dawn on her cell at any time during the week if assistance is needed.

May we all find time for celebration and renewal this holiday season!

Our January Communion offering supports: Sunday Fund for Methodist Senior Services, a benevolence fund created to meet the financial burdens of elders who live on one of our twelve campuses across Mississippi. These are elders who have outlived their resources and can no longer afford the cost of housing or care. No matter how much someone plans and saves, sometimes those plans are dramatically altered by unexpected events which produce overwhelming financial and emotional obstacles. Watch video here.
