Here's an update to the Louisville area FM tower that partially collapsed in October. The tower is in Elizabeth, Indiana, near Indiana 111 (west of Louisville) and it held antennas for three broadcasters. Let's break this down:
Summit Media's Classic Hits/WSFR (Corydon) already returned to the air from their auxiliary site, just off I-71 in Louisville.
Alpha Media's Urban/WGZB (96.5fm, Lanesville) returned to the air from the WDJX transmitter site, northeast of Floyds Knobs.
Greg Hahn, Chief Engineer at SummitMedia Louisville says nobody was at the tower site when the fall happened, and engineers continue trying to determine why the tower fell.
Southcentral
Indiana University's WFIU (103.7fm, Bloomington) PD Will Murphy exits and joins High Plains Public Radio as their new executive director (GM). Based in Garden City, Kansas, High Plains Public Radio also has an office and broadcasting facilities in Amarillo, Texas.
Before joining IU, Mr. Murphy was GM for Northeast Indiana Public Radio (WBNI/WBOI) in Fort Wayne, and also worked at Bloomington's WFIU (among other broadcasting stops.)
