Good Afternoon,
I didn't mean to hit the 'pause' button, but it got stuck. I'll send out more content this week. Thank you (as always) for reading. Happy Mother's Day!
The Indiana Broadcasters Association created a website bestideasinbroadcasting.com to consolidate COVID-19 related ideas from Indiana radio and TV stations. Ideas include sales, promotions, and community service efforts from local broadcasters.

Adams' WGL (1250am, Fort Wayne) signs back on, as a simulcast of AC/WWFW (103.9fm, Fort Wayne). Also, Adams announced they will sell WGL and the CP for an FM translator to Brian Walsh for $50,000. More on that in an upcoming IRW.
Quincy Media's ABC affiliate/WPTA-TV (Channel 21, Fort Wayne) profiles Columbia City High School's Alternative/WJHS (91.5fm, Columbia City). After school was canceled due to the pandemic, WJHS student broadcasters (lead by faculty advisor Jordan Glaza) figured out a way to keep the station going.
Speaking of student stations, Homestead High School’s Advanced Television Production class typically creates a weekly newscast (HHS In Depth) for the high school faculty and staff. With the pandemic going on, and school closed, the class created a “virtual” news show to explain the impact to the school district and the local community. No student went into the school building; instead they created the entire production from their own homes. The Homestead High School Advanced Television Production class has 22 students and is taught by Adam Schenkel.

Urban One wants to test out digital-only AM radio stations. They recently petitioned the FCC to grant experimental authority for their Gospel/WTLC (1310am, Indianapolis). If granted, they will turn off the analog AM signal and keep a digital signal only on the air. Once they complete this, any Indianapolis radio listener would be able to hear WTLCs FM translator on 92.7fm (W224DI), but only digital radios would pick up 1310am. WTLC is a Class B AM (5kW non-directional during the day; 1kW directional at night), and they use a Nautel NX5 transmitter.
