| Supporting Our Academic Researchers |
With proven success in securing grants and retaining faculty, SOAR aims to empower UMKC's researchers, enhance diversity and inclusion, and elevate our research community.
SOAR offers faculty mentoring, large grant support, interdisciplinary networks, and proposal reviews. These programs start in September and continue through the semester, and will run again spring semester.

Talk the Talk: Communicate the Value of Your Innovation
October 14 - 18 November
Over six sessions, you will have the opportunity to work alongside fellow faculty to develop practical communication techniques that will help you navigate the path from idea to market. The focus will be on market assessment and pitch strategy, providing you with the skills needed to align your innovation with real-world opportunities.

| Large-Scale Proposal Development workshop
October 4 - 1 November
This dynamic workshop series is for faculty interested in collaborating with a group on a large-scale proposal. Faculty will select a proposal and then work through the process for developing and collaborating on large proposals, so that, if funded, your team is set up for success!

Want to extend the reach of your research? Learn how to engage the public through non-academic outlets to share meaningful and relevant information that makes a difference.

UMKC has partnered with OpenScholar, an all-in-one research platform that provides the tools you need to share your research with the world, secure funding and find collaborators. Websites are available for faculty, labs, and centers.

CAFE is thrilled to introduce two new competitions!

We invite UMKC faculty to submit maps, flowcharts, or visual representations showing how you use UMKC’s resources to boost student success in the Creating Helpful Academic Resource Trails challenge! Top entries will be featured in a poster session at the January CAFE conference.
Join us on October 1st for a launch event to learn more, see examples, and brainstorm ideas. This challenge is all about coming together to improve student success and share best practices. We’re eager to see the incredible ideas you’ll bring!
