Ann, Ticket Detective
One thing is clear when you read the six nominations Ann Chau received for HR’s employee recognition program: she has a special skill of weeding out potential issues before they become bigger problems. She was nominated for her dedication to her clients, represented through her quick turnaround time, responsiveness, and low error rate due to her analysis of requests.

Transaction Services Unit enters and updates employee data in our payroll and timekeeping systems. Human error is one of the common problems in Ann’s line of work. Everyone makes mistakes but since the tickets she manages are about employees’ pay, accuracy is a top priority.
How does she do it? When a new ticket comes in, she transforms into what she calls her “detective” role. Using her 20-plus years of experience, she scours the entire ticket, line by line, looking for any potential pitfalls, problems or red flags. If she has any questions or concerns, she calls up the submitter and clarifies information on the spot. Her top priority is getting it right the first time before she hits the submit button.
