Women's History Month
Throughout March, Stony Brook University is celebrating Women’s History Month, an annual tradition that highlights the achievements of women, raises awareness against bias and promotes social action for equality. Stony Brook’s theme for WHM 2025 is “Moving Forward Together: Women Educating and Inspiring Generations.” Read more and see events still to come below.

Women's History Month Events
Syncopated Ladies Cutting-edge choreography and inspiring stories — a celebration of sisterhood through the power of tap! March 14 at 8:00 p.m. at the Staller Center.
Revolutions on Vinyl: Women Who Changed the Beat March 24 at 7:00 p.m. at the Union UCC Conference Room. While you unwind, learn about the legendary women in music who broke barriers and shaped the industry. Bring your friends, enjoy some iconic tunes, and make your own masterpiece to take home! 
Women's Physical Activity Workshop + Wellness Walk Join CPO for a Women's Physical Activity workshop at Union Suite 108 on March 24 from 5-6 p.m. for a conversational workshop and 1-mile wellness walk. 
Her Impact: Women Driving Change The Center for Civic Justice is hosting a panel discussion on meaningful ways to get involved to create impactful change in local and global communities. March 26, 6:30-8 p.m., SAC Ballroom B.
Not All SHEroes Wear Capes March 28, 11 a.m.-1 p.m., SAC Ballroom A | This event connects Stony Brook female students and alumni with inspiring women professionals across various fields, with meaningful discussions about the unique challenges and opportunities women encounter in the workplace.
Women's History Month Closing Celebration March 31 from 12-2:30 p.m. in SB Union Ballroom.
Other Events
Submit your Curriculum Innovation Ideas by Friday Tomorrow (Friday, March 14), is the last day to apply for funding and in-kind support to create or revise a general education course. Project EDGE: Empowering Development in General Education aims to encourage innovation and excellence in teaching while reducing students' time to degree. Learn more and submit your proposal.

Join the C4E’s workshop on PFAS chemicals on March 28 Per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) are chemicals that can be found in the environment in many forms, including water, soil, food, etc. The goal is for faculty and students to review environmental health risks, effects on wildlife, etc. to discuss possible research opportunities and solutions. The workshop is from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in the Institute for Advanced Computational Science (IACS) seminar room.

Transgender Day of Visibility Artist Showcase March 31 from 7-9:30 p.m. at the LGBTQ* Center 
Grow Together at the 3rd Annual Sea to Soil Symposium The FoodLab at Stony Brook Southampton has planned an exciting lineup of activities on Friday, May 3, including a boat excursion into the bay, followed by a series of insightful talks from great speakers at the symposium, including keynote speaker Paul Greenberg — an award-winning author and environmental journalist (Four Fish, The Climate Diet).
