| Free On-Demand Webinar Offers Tips for HCH Programs in States Newly Expanding Medicaid
Virginia and Maine are on the cusp of expanding Medicaid coverage through the Affordable Care Act, an option that has significantly benefited people experiencing homelessness. While this presents exciting opportunities for growth at HCH programs and other health centers, it also brings new challenges and operational considerations. To share “lessons learned” from others working in Medicaid expansion states, the Council hosted a videoconference featuring a discussion among leadership from HCH programs in Richmond, VA; Baltimore, MD; Albuquerque, NM; Portland, OR; and three health centers in Maine. This recording will be of interest to anyone in a state newly expanding Medicaid (or seeking to in the near future!) or to those curious about others’ experiences.

NHCHC Organizational Member Duffy Health Center is the focus of a research article in the Journal of Community Health demonstrating the success of the Shared Medical Appointment (SMA) model of care in treatment of Hepatitis C Virus (HCV) in Hyannis, MA.
