In this issue: sharing, caring, and COVID colloquialisms, oh my!
SPRING QUARTER 2023
Weeks 1-2: After the rain edition.
Welcome back, WWL-ers!
We’ve missed you all dearly, and hope that you were able to enjoy some dry time off during the break. Here's What We’ve Learned since the last time we sprang into your inboxes.
Enjoy, be safe, and stay kind to one another. - Ian
UC S(tresse)D.
We get it. Quarters are short, and with midterms around the corner, so too are some tempers on and around campus. However – to borrow one of the worn-thin taglines from peak-COVID times – we’re all in this together.
UC S(hare)D. We’ve learned about an uptick in unfriendly interactions of late, so please, remember to prioritize our shared community responsibility and – to borrow my own tagline from the intro of this very newsletter – stay kind to one another.
We’re in this Togetherall.
Along those lines, we’re happy to share a new resource that’s available to Tritons – Togetherall – for online peer-to-peer support.
Hear for it. Whether you’re looking for advice, tips, or just need someone to listen, Togetherall offers a safe, anonymous community where fellow students can connect 24/7 with others who understand what they’re going through.
April slowers…
…may help bring the flow of scooter injuries on campus down to trace amounts – which we know our colleagues in Student Health would love to see. Because more folks + more spokes = more accidents, here’s a reminder from AS on how wheeled and unwheeled Tritons alike can safely navigate shared paths.
Use it, don’t bruise it. Keep your brain in midterm-season shape by wearing a helmet while cruising campus on bikes, scooters, and skateboards (heck, even unicycles if you’re about that mono-wheel life).
Safety, at any cost. Lucky for you, that cost is nearly 80% off when you grab a Giro MIPS helmet for $10, courtesy of the Triton Commuter Club.
Quick Hits and Bits
Vinyasa please. Join the Library and Recreation for outdoor yoga, every Thursday from 4-5 p.m. on the Geisel patio. Registration (no cost for students!) is required.
The Butler made me do it. While you’re fully embracing that outdoors-only life, consider catching a free amphitheater screening-under-the-stars of Baz Luhrmann's Elvis on Wednesday, April 19 at 8 p.m.
