The ‘Customer Spotlight’ series is still our favorite part of the newsletter! That’s because we have the best customers in the world, and we love showcasing them in this series. The final spotlight of 2023 shines on our good friend Jack Shayo.
Jack Shayo has been an active member of the Protector community ever since his company began evaluating the application. Most recently, he shared his telecom knowledge and provided new perspectives with other delegates at PUGM 2023.

Jack entered the telecommunications industry 14 years ago when his current company hired him. Today, Jack serves as their Director of Business Administration & Head of Fraud Control Services. Because Jack created and developed the Fraud Control Services at his organization, he has been involved with the Protector fraud management system (FMS) since 2020 when his company first licensed it. In fact, Jack led the effort to evaluate and select the application that is now part of their daily work process. He and his team greatly appreciate how customizable the system’s alerts and blocking are. Protector’s wide range of criteria lets them accommodate rules for all their customers and their traffic. Jacks explains that “Protector brings peace of mind to both our company and customers. Knowing that we have such a robust tool helping us detect and stop fraud allows us to focus and improve on other important areas and daily tasks.”

In 2023, Jack attended his first Protector User Group Meetings (PUGM) in Nashville. He says “getting to know the Equinox team, matching faces to names, and experiencing the warm and welcoming atmosphere” was a highlight of that experience. He adds that, “professionally, I believe it’s a true advantage to collaborate with a company whose representatives display deep expertise and have been in the industry for a long time. Also, hearing from other customers about their experiences with Protector has been very valuable in generating new ideas for improving our own company’s customer service.”

According to Jack, he and his team usually talk to Christi about Protector when they have questions. She then channels the issue at hand to the correct person at Equinox to help resolve it. He describes what sets Equinox apart from other companies and vendors as, “without a doubt, it’s the people. From day one, you can sense that everyone at Equinox is eager to assist, resolve issues, and promptly and effectively accommodate requests. The family-like atmosphere truly resonates and translates to an excellent customer service and overall experience.”

Jack was born and raised in Mexico City. He still lives there today with his wife, 7-year-old daughter, and 5-year-old son. In his free time, Jack enjoys spending time with his children, playing, and going to parks. He also loves to play jai alai and kite surf whenever he’s at the beach. Jack appreciates art and likes going to museums.

We are thrilled Jack joined the Equinox family and is active in the Protector community. His comments and suggestions for feature enhancements have truly helped make Protector a more valuable resource for everyone!
